The premium multimedia laptop market is heating up, and for creatives and power users, the choices have never been more difficult—or more impressive. Samsung recently entered the fray with its flagship Galaxy Book6 Ultra, a machine that turns heads with its sleek design and powerful internals. However, in the other corner stands a formidable challenger: the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16.
After spending time with both devices, a clear picture is emerging. While Samsung has delivered a very good laptop, it faces an uphill battle against Lenovo’s offering, particularly when it comes to display innovation and, most importantly, price.
The Display Duel: Great vs. Revolutionary
Let’s start with the window to the soul of any creative laptop: the screen. Samsung has made notable improvements to the OLED panel in the new Galaxy Book6 Ultra. The colors are vibrant, the blacks are inky, and the image quality is excellent—easily matching the standard OLED configuration found in the Yoga Pro 9i 16. For photo editors and video creators, both screens provide a fantastic canvas to work on.
However, this is where Lenovo pulls ahead. Beyond the standard OLED, Lenovo offers a high-end SKU featuring a Tandem OLED screen. This technology, which stacks two OLED layers, allows the display to achieve blistering brightness levels without sacrificing pixel health or color accuracy. In fact, this Tandem OLED panel is currently among the best displays you can get on a laptop today, making it a killer feature for HDR content creators and anyone who works in brightly lit environments.

Performance and Power: A Tale of Two Specs
Under the hood, both machines are powerhouses. Configured with Intel’s latest Core Ultra 9 processors and the Nvidia RTX 5070 graphics card, they chew through video exports and 3D rendering tasks with equal aplomb. In raw computational power, they are neck-and-neck.
The divergence lies in the configuration ceiling. Lenovo allows users to max out the Yoga Pro 9i with a whopping 64 GB of RAM. For professionals running virtual machines or working with massive datasets, this headroom is non-negotiable. Samsung, in contrast, appears to be capping the Galaxy Book6 Ultra at 32 GB in many regions, which might be a dealbreaker for the "prosumer" audience they are targeting.
Battery Life vs. Brightness
This is where the technical differences become a matter of user preference.
- The Samsung Advantage: If you are a digital nomad, the Galaxy Book6 Ultra is the clear winner. At a standardized brightness of 150 nits, the Samsung lasted an incredible 16.8 hours, compared to the Lenovo’s 11.1 hours. Even at maximum SDR brightness, the gap widened further (8.8 hours vs. 4.5 hours). If your priority is getting through a transatlantic flight without reaching for the charger, Samsung is the better companion.
- The Lenovo Advantage: However, that battery life disparity is largely due to the Lenovo screen's ability to get almost twice as bright in SDR mode (nearly 1,000 nits compared to Samsung’s 500 nits). That extra brightness consumes power, but it also makes the Lenovo usable outdoors or near large windows—environments where the Samsung screen might look dim.
The Bottom Line: The Price is Right
Finally, we arrive at the deciding factor: the cost. The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra is undeniably a premium product, but it comes with a premium price tag that is hard to justify right now. It currently retails for well over €3,000.
Meanwhile, Lenovo has priced the Yoga Pro 9i 16 aggressively. The high-end SKU—equipped with the Core Ultra 9 285H, RTX 5070, 64 GB of RAM, and the superior Tandem OLED panel—is available for €2,699.
That is a staggering saving of more than €1,000.
Yes, the Samsung is brand new, and prices will eventually drop. But it is highly unlikely they will dip below the €3,000 mark anytime soon. For the price of the Samsung, you could buy the Lenovo and a high-end tablet or a new camera lens, and still have money left over.
Verdict
The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra is a fantastic machine for those who prioritize battery life above all else and are invested in the Samsung ecosystem. It is a very good laptop.
However, the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16 isn't just "very good"—it offers a superior display option and double the RAM capacity for a significantly lower price. Unless you absolutely need the marathon battery life of the Samsung, the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16 is the smarter, more powerful, and more future-proof investment for creative professionals.
