| The Legion 5i 15IAX11 can be configured with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor. |
A new 15.3-inch OLED display, upgradeable internals, and worldwide availability (except North America… for now).
Yesterday we reported that Lenovo had finally acknowledged the existence of the Legion 5 15IAX11. Added to its PSREF website, the laptop first appeared on Amazon in late March with a pair of unreleased components. Not only are the Intel Core Ultra 7 251HX and Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 12 GB now official, but Lenovo has started selling the Legion 5 15IAX11, too.
If you’ve been waiting for a next-gen gaming laptop that doesn’t lock you out of upgrades, this could be the one. The new Legion 5i Gen 11 (full model number 15IAX11) is already landing on shelves across multiple continents – and we’ve dug into every detail, from the bright new OLED panel to the pleasantly surprising user-serviceable design.
Where can you buy the Lenovo Legion 5i 15IAX11 right now?
Currently we can find the Legion 5i Gen 11 15-inch (15IAX11) being sold across Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Malaysia, Singapore and the UK. Meanwhile, Lenovo states that the laptop is ‘coming soon’ in North America. Setting that aside, the new Legion 5i departs from the Legion 5i 15IRX10 that we reviewed last year in a few key areas – and for the most part, those changes are welcome.
If you're eager to secure one of these new Legion laptops, you can check current pricing on Amazon – though stock levels vary by region, and North American buyers may need to wait just a little longer.
A brand new 15.3-inch OLED display steals the show
For instance, the 15IAX11 moves to a 15.3-inch display to match other Legion 5i Gen 11 models. A 2,560 x 1,600 OLED panel, the display also delivers a 165 Hz refresh rate with 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage and 500 nits peak brightness, which rises to 1,100 nits when viewing HDR content. That’s a serious bump for a laptop in this class – especially for content creators who also game.
This larger display sits within a 1.93 kg housing that measures 344 x 244.5 x 18.95-19.95 mm, compared to 1.9 kg and 344.9 x 255.35 x 19.95-21.54 mm for OLED versions of the older Legion 5i 15IRX10. So it’s slightly heavier but also a bit more compact in width and depth, with a slimmer profile overall.
Under the hood: Intel Core Ultra 7 / 9 and RTX 5060 / 5070 options
Moreover, Lenovo equips the 15IAX11 with an 80 Wh battery and a choice between Core Ultra 7 251HX or Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processors in most markets. A cheaper Core 7 245HX variant is available in Europe, though. Currently, these processors can be complemented by the GeForce RTX 5060 (8 GB) or the GeForce RTX 5070 (12 GB), as well as 16 GB or 32 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM.
The RTX 5070 with 12 GB of VRAM is particularly interesting – that’s more video memory than the desktop RTX 5070’s 10-12 GB rumours, and it positions this Legion 5i as a credible 1440p gaming machine for years to come.
Pricing and regional quirks (the Core 7 245HX catch)
Pricing starts at AUD 3,279 in Australia, SGD 3,002 in Singapore, MYR 9,019 in Malaysia and HKD 23,361 in Hong Kong. Meanwhile, the same laptop has reached the UK for £1,636 and the Eurozone for €1,918-€2,209, but only when configured with the Core 7 245HX. For reference, doing so prevents one from configuring a GeForce RTX 5070 12 GB. So European bargain hunters will have to choose between a cheaper CPU or the top-tier GPU – you can’t have both in that region.
Please see Lenovo’s website for more details on regional configuration limits.
User-upgradeable RAM, storage, and even the Wi-Fi card
One of the most refreshing aspects of the new Legion 5i 15IAX11 is Lenovo’s continued commitment to repairability. The laptop supports user-upgradeable RAM, storage and a swappable Wi-Fi card – something that’s becoming sadly rare in the premium gaming laptop space. Two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots, two M.2 PCIe slots, and a removable MediaTek or Intel Wi-Fi card mean you’re not locked into your original spec.
What about North America?
As noted, Lenovo says the Legion 5i 15IAX11 is “coming soon” in the US and Canada. No exact date has been given, but given that units are already selling in eight other regions, a North American launch likely isn’t far off. When it does arrive, expect fierce competition from ASUS’s ROG Zephyrus and Alienware’s x16 – though few of those offer a swappable Wi-Fi card or a 15.3-inch OLED at this price point.
Final thoughts
The Lenovo Legion 5i Gen 11 (15IAX11) feels like a meaningful evolution rather than a minor spec bump. The move to a larger, brighter OLED display, the arrival of Intel’s Core Ultra 200HX series, and the RTX 5070 with 12 GB of VRAM all point to a laptop that could dominate the mid-range gaming segment. Add in upgradeable internals and global availability (North America pending), and Lenovo has a real winner on its hands.
For those who want to track down a unit or compare live prices, keep an eye on Amazon and Lenovo’s regional stores. We’ll update this article as soon as North American pricing and release dates are confirmed.
