If you’re in the market for a desktop replacement that balances performance with a large display, HP’s latest offer might be too good to pass up. Right now, you can snag the HP OmniBook 7 for just $819.99, which is a staggering 40% discount off its standard list price. This deal makes a compelling case for anyone looking for a high-performance Windows machine without breaking the bank.
A Display Built for Productivity
The centerpiece of this laptop is undoubtedly its massive 17.3-inch IPS touch panel. Whether you are crunching spreadsheets or streaming your favorite shows, the 1920 × 1080 resolution and 400 nits of peak brightness ensure a crisp and vibrant viewing experience. The touch capability adds an extra layer of convenience, making navigation feel intuitive and modern.
Under the Hood: Intel’s Latest Tech
Performance-wise, the OmniBook 7 is no slouch. It is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 256V processor, which features a hybrid architecture with 4 Performance-cores and 4 Low-Power Efficient cores. This is paired with Intel’s Arc 140V integrated graphics, which offers respectable graphical power for casual gaming and creative work.
To keep things running smoothly, HP has equipped the machine with 16 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory and a fast 512 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. This combination ensures snappy multitasking and quick boot times.
Connectivity and Design
In terms of ports, HP has been generous. You get a high-speed Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port (supporting 40 Gbps, DisplayPort 2.1, and Power Delivery), another 10 Gbps USB-C port, and three USB-A ports for your legacy accessories. There is also an HDMI 2.1 port and a 3.5 mm combo jack. Wireless connectivity is handled by an Intel AX211 card, bringing Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 support.
Despite its large screen, the laptop manages a slim profile, measuring just 0.60 inches thick. However, it does have some heft at 5.18 lbs (2.35 kg). Powering this setup is a substantial 83 Wh battery, and HP includes a 100 W USB-C adapter for rapid charging.

User Feedback: The Good and The Bad
With a user rating of 4.2/5, the OmniBook 7 is generally well-received. Owners frequently praise its long battery life and overall system performance, making it a reliable daily driver. However, there are a couple of drawbacks worth noting: some users report that the fans can get quite loud under heavy loads, and the lack of an SD card reader might be a dealbreaker for photographers who need easy file transfers.
Overall, if you can look past those minor quirks, this is a lot of laptop for the money.
