Lenovo appears to be quietly expanding its entry-level laptop portfolio with an entirely new series. A recent listing on the company's PSREF (Product Specifications Reference) website has revealed the Lenovo Prima 14 IWC, the first model in what looks to be a fresh budget-oriented family called the Prima Series.

Lenovo has already released several budget-oriented laptops powered by Intel's Wildcat Lake processors, including the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 and the IdeaPad Slim 3 15IWC11 we reviewed back in June. Now, a new listing on the PSREF website reveals what appears to be an entirely new entry-level lineup called the Prima Series.
The first model in the series is the Prima 14 IWC, a 14-inch laptop powered by Intel Wildcat Lake processors. According to the listing, it will be offered with the five-core Core 3 304, with the six-core Core 5 320 and Core 7 350 available further up the range. Lenovo lists configurations with up to 32GB of DDR5-5600 RAM in a single SODIMM slot. For storage, options range from 256GB to 1TB, using one M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD slot.
Display and Design Trade-offs
The display options are fairly basic. Lenovo lists both TN and IPS panels, each with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, 300 nits of brightness, and 45% NTSC color coverage. Needless to say, the IPS option offers wider viewing angles and a slightly higher contrast ratio (800:1 vs. 500:1), but neither panel supports touch.
That said, the Prima 14 IWC is fairly light at 3.02 lbs, but its all-plastic chassis may feel less premium than the CNC-machined aluminum build of Dell's $699.99 Wildcat Lake-powered XPS 13. Lenovo also includes a slightly smaller 47 Wh battery, which is said to last up to 17.56 hours in official video playback tests at 200 nits. There is a 720p webcam with a privacy shutter, two 2W speakers, and support for up to Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
Connectivity and Ports
Other connectivity options include two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, two full-function 5 Gbps USB-C ports, HDMI 1.4b, a headphone jack, and an Ethernet jack. There is no SD card reader here, and the laptop also includes a non-backlit keyboard.
Pricing and Availability
The Lenovo Prima 14 IWC is now listed on the global PSREF website, including multiple SKUs for Indonesia, but there are no exact pricing or availability details. For those looking for a budget-friendly laptop with the latest Intel silicon, the Amazon listing may offer additional options worth exploring.
