Lenovo is making a strong play for the budget-conscious crowd with the quiet release of its latest laptop, the IdeaPad Slim 3x 14. While it might not have had a massive launch event, this new machine is turning heads for one specific reason: it claims to offer battery life that puts its predecessor to shame.
The tech giant first teased the device on its Product Specifications Reference (PSREF) website as the IdeaPad Slim 3 14Q7X11. Now, it has officially rebranded and launched the unit in East Asian and Southeast Asian markets as the IdeaPad Slim 3x 14, powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon C silicon.
A Huge Leap in Efficiency
To understand how far Lenovo has come with this model, we have to look back at its predecessor. The previous IdeaPad Slim 3x (15-inch model) was well-received for its affordability and endurance. However, Lenovo claims this new 14-inch version outperforms it significantly.
According to the company’s internal testing, the new IdeaPad Slim 3x 14 achieves over 75% longer battery life than the previous generation, despite packing the same 50 Wh battery. In real-world terms, Lenovo claims you can get up to 33 hours of local 1080p video playback at 150 nits.
To put that into perspective, the larger 15-inch model—which actually has a bigger 60 Wh battery—only manages about 22.5 hours. This means the new 14-inch model outlasts its bigger sibling by more than 45%, a staggering difference for a device with a physically smaller battery.
Performance and Pricing
While the video playback numbers are impressive, real-world usage will naturally vary. Lenovo notes that their web browsing test drops the estimated battery life to a still-solid 13.5 hours. The laptop features a 1200p IPS display with a 60Hz refresh rate and 400 nits of peak brightness, making it a capable machine for daily productivity and media consumption.
The new IdeaPad Slim 3x 14 is currently available in select markets with the following starting configurations:
- Processor: Snapdragon C11-0100
- RAM: 8 GB LPDDR5X
- Storage: 512 GB SSD
Pricing starts at HKD 6,688 in Hong Kong, MYR 3,320 in Malaysia, and PHP 57,196 in the Philippines (roughly $914 USD).

Availability and Confusion
As is often the case with Lenovo’s vast product lineup, there is a bit of confusion regarding specs. While the current launch features 8 GB of RAM, Lenovo’s PSREF site suggests that a 4 GB variant is also in the pipeline, along with an optional "Cosmic Blue" colorway.
Unfortunately, Lenovo has not yet confirmed when these entry-level variants will hit shelves or when the 14-inch model will make its way to Western markets like the US and Europe. Given that the device is already listed on European sites, a wider rollout seems likely, but for now, specific dates remain under wraps.
