Lenovo has finally pulled back the curtain on its upcoming 15-inch laptop lineup, and budget-conscious tech fans have a lot to be excited about. After teasing the IdeaPad Vibe series earlier this month at IFA 2026 in Berlin, the company has officially listed the new IdeaPad Vibe 15 on its Product Specifications Reference (PSREF) website. This move gives us a clear look at what to expect regarding performance, display quality, and battery life.

The Battle of the Specs: Two Distinct Models

Interestingly, Lenovo is taking a slightly unusual approach with this release. The 15-inch model will actually be split into two distinct variants, and they aren't identical under the hood.

The larger of the two new models, the IdeaPad Vibe 15, is shaking up the entry-level market. If you’re looking for maximum memory, you’ll want to keep an eye on the IdeaPad Vibe 15AKP12, which supports up to 32 GB of RAM. Surprisingly, Lenovo has decided to cap the more powerful IdeaPad Vibe 15AGP12 at 16 GB. However, both versions are future-proofed with dual M.2 2242 SSD slots.

You can explore the full technical breakdown on the official Lenovo IdeaPad Vibe Series page or dive into the specific spec sheets for the 15AGP12 and 15AKP12.

Power and Ports

Originally, Lenovo hinted at "AMD Ryzen AI 400" processors, but they have now clarified that AMD Ryzen AI 300 variants are also joining the party. Depending on which model you choose, you’ll get different levels of performance:

  • IdeaPad Vibe 15AGP12: Powered by the Ryzen AI 7 445.
  • IdeaPad Vibe 15AKP12: Powered by the Ryzen AI 5 330.

For those keeping score on performance, benchmarks suggest the former leads the latter by about 29% in CPU workloads. The higher-end model also features the Radeon 840M, which offers a significant graphical leap over the Radeon 820M found in the Ryzen AI 5 model.

Connectivity-wise, both laptops are well-equipped for the modern worker. You’re getting a solid port selection, including:

  • 1x 3.5 mm combo headphone/microphone jack
  • 1x HDMI 1.4
  • 1x MicroSD card reader
  • 2x USB Type-A (5 Gbps)
  • 2x USB Type-C (5 Gbps/DisplayPort 1.2/USB Power Delivery 65 W-100 W)

Displays and Battery Life

If you’re a fan of vibrant colors, Lenovo has a treat for you. While the 15AGP12 is restricted to a 1200p 120 Hz IPS panel, the 15AKP12 offers more flexibility. It can be configured with either a standard 1200p 60 Hz IPS display or a stunning 1352p (2,160 x 1,352) OLED panel running at 120 Hz.

The OLED option isn't just about deep blacks; it’s also the brightest of the bunch, hitting 500 nits compared to the 400 nits found on the IPS alternatives.

Battery life is another strong point here. You can choose between 50 Wh or 65 Wh batteries. When equipped with the larger 65 Wh cell, Lenovo claims the Vibe 15 can last an impressive 21.9 hours during 1080p local video playback at 150 nits. Even under heavier workloads (MobileMark 30 at 250 nits), it holds up with a 12.4-hour rating.

Pricing and Availability

While the full pricing matrix is still under wraps, Lenovo has confirmed that the IdeaPad Vibe series will start at $699. This pricing positions the IdeaPad Vibe as a direct competitor to the Apple MacBook Neo, (curr. $689 on Amazon) especially since the other IdeaPad Vibe model (the smaller sibling) is being teed up as a direct rival to Apple's budget offering.

The IdeaPad Vibe 15 is slated to launch in Europe on October 15, followed by a US release in November. For a closer look at the design and first impressions, you can check out the hands-on preview or read about the initial debut.
