October 19, 2026 – Orico has officially launched its first laptop for the global market, and it's making a strong case for budget-conscious buyers who don't want to compromise on performance. The Orico Obook 15 AI, which first appeared in China last year as the Obook Ultrabook, is now available worldwide featuring AMD's capable Ryzen 7 6800H processor.
A Familiar Chip with Proven Capabilities
At the heart of the Obook 15 AI beats the AMD Ryzen 7 6800H—an upper-mid-range chip from the Rembrandt-H series. With its 8-core Zen 3+ CPU architecture and integrated Radeon 680M graphics, this processor strikes an impressive balance between everyday productivity and light gaming. The RDNA 2-based iGPU, complete with hardware ray tracing support and AV1 decode, means users can enjoy mainstream games and moderate GPU-intensive tasks without needing a dedicated graphics card.
The laptop supports up to 24GB of LPDDR5 RAM and features two M.2 slots, each capable of accommodating up to an 8TB SSD. Orico has also equipped the device with a dual-fan cooling system to maintain consistent performance during extended use.
Large Display, Full-Sized Keyboard
The Obook 15 AI sports a 15.6-inch FHD IPS anti-glare display with a 1920 × 1080 resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. While the bottom bezel is somewhat chunky, Orico has made excellent use of the laptop's larger footprint by including a full-sized keyboard complete with a numeric keypad—a welcome feature for productivity-focused users.
The touchpad is generously sized as well, though the same can't be said for the battery. At 54.29Wh, the battery capacity is modest, and given that the Ryzen 7 6800H isn't particularly power-efficient by modern standards, users shouldn't expect all-day runtime. The inclusion of USB-C 100W fast charging helps mitigate this shortcoming.
Connectivity and AI Features
Port selection on the Obook 15 AI is solid for its price point:
- 2x 10Gbps USB Type-C
- 1x 5Gbps USB Type-A
- 1x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 1x HDMI 2.0 (supports up to 4K@60Hz)
- 1x 3.5mm audio jack
Wireless connectivity comes courtesy of WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. The laptop also ships with Windows 11 Home pre-installed.
What sets this device apart is Orico's AI Super Intelligent Agent—a built-in assistant featuring 11 specialist functions, voice wake capability, and mobile remote control. It's a thoughtful addition that could appeal to users looking for extra productivity tools without additional subscriptions.
Pricing and Availability
The Orico Obook 15 AI is available in two configurations:
- Base model: 12GB RAM + 256GB SSD at $689.99
- Upgraded model: 24GB RAM + 1TB SSD at $899.99
For those interested in purchasing, the laptop can be ordered directly from Orico's official store with free shipping on orders over $39.99 and a 30-day money-back guarantee. The device is also available through Amazon for added convenience.
At 1.8kg, the Obook 15 AI is reasonably portable for a 15.6-inch laptop, and Orico covers customs fees and VAT for customers in the US, EU, UK, Canada, Australia, and Singapore.
The Verdict
The Orico Obook 15 AI represents an attractive option for users seeking solid AMD performance at an accessible price point. While the battery life may leave something to be desired, the combination of the Ryzen 7 6800H, expandable storage options, full-sized keyboard, and built-in AI features makes this a compelling choice in the budget laptop segment.
