When we reviewed the Legion 7a 16AGP11 earlier this year with its formidable Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 and Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 combo, we praised it as a lighter, more portable alternative to the previous generation's Legion 7i 16IAX10. But Lenovo has been quietly working on something even more intriguing—and it's finally here.
The Lenovo Legion 7a 15ASH11 has officially launched in Canada and the United States, completing a global rollout that already saw the laptop hit shelves across Australia, Europe, East Asia, and Southeast Asia over the past several months. And while it shares the Legion 7 family name, this 15-inch variant brings some surprising changes that set it apart from its larger siblings.
A Design That Breaks the Mold
Visually, the Legion 7a 15ASH11 immediately distinguishes itself from its 16-inch counterparts by eschewing the built-in numberpad—a welcome change for users who prefer a more centered typing experience. The trackpad has also been repositioned to the center of the chassis, offering a more symmetrical and balanced feel during everyday use.

The Legion 7a 15ASH11 represents a fascinating departure from traditional gaming laptop design. By betting big on AMD's Strix Halo platform, Lenovo is essentially saying that the future of mobile gaming might not require discrete graphics at all—provided the integrated solution is powerful enough.
For gamers who primarily play at 1080p or 1440p and don't need maximum ray tracing performance, this laptop could be a revelation. If you're still considering the larger model with its RTX 5060 dedicated GPU, our earlier review found it to be an excellent balance of portability and performance.
