Lenovo has quietly begun rolling out the Intel-powered ThinkPad L14 Gen 7 across multiple regions worldwide, arriving nearly three months after its AMD Ryzen AI 400 counterpart first hit the shelves. The new model replaces last year's Arrow Lake-powered Gen 6 variant, offering Intel's latest Core Ultra Series 3 processors while retaining the familiar, business-focused design that ThinkPad loyalists have come to expect.
However, what's drawing attention this time around isn't just the upgraded silicon — it's the price tag.

A Bumpy Launch for Budget-Conscious Buyers
The ongoing memory crisis appears to have left its mark on Lenovo's more affordable ThinkPad lineup. When the company initially announced the ThinkPad L14 Gen 7, it projected a starting price of $1,439 (presumably for the 8GB RAM configuration). That figure already represented a notable bump from the Gen 6 model's $1,209 launch price.
In the US market, however, the situation has shifted further. The cheapest configuration now sits at $1,559 before any discounts — though to be fair, that does get you 16GB of RAM paired with a Core Ultra 5 325 processor and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Not exactly the entry-level machine some might have hoped for.

Interestingly, North American buyers have just one preconfigured SKU to choose from at the moment. But if you're shopping in Europe, you'll find more options. Customers in the UK, Ireland, Spain, and Sweden can opt for configurations featuring the Core Ultra 7 355 with 16GB of RAM or step up to the more powerful Core Ultra 7 356H with 32GB.
Meanwhile, markets in Australia and India are receiving Core Ultra 5 332 and Core Ultra 5 335 configurations that include vPro support — a nice addition for enterprise users who need that extra layer of manageability.

Across all configurations, Lenovo has opted for a standard 1920 x 1200 IPS display with a 60Hz refresh rate and up to 400 nits of brightness. The smaller 46.5Wh battery is included across the board, meaning you won't find the larger 57Wh option available for this generation.
There are some notable omissions too: fingerprint readers, NFC, card readers, and 5G support are all absent from the current lineup. On the flip side, Lenovo has packed in Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, a 720p webcam with a privacy shutter, and a generous selection of ports including USB-C, HDMI 2.1, and multiple USB-A ports — so connectivity shouldn't be a concern for most users.
