Lenovo released the latest AMD-based ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 laptop in March of this year as a smaller sibling to the ThinkPad P16. The Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 AMD has almost everything that one would expect from a ThinkPad workstation, including a robust design, Lenovo’s signature keyboard, and the immediately recognizable TrackPoint.
So for Lenovo fans who want a small ThinkPad, the ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 fits the bill quite well. What’s more, Lenovo is now selling the ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 at a big 45% discount.
The Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 AMD is currently retailing for $1,429 on [**Lenovo’s official store**] Lenovo lists the price as a massive $1,210 reduction vs the full $2,369 price.
Specs-wise, the ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 packs an 8-core AMD Ryzen AI 7 Pro 450 APU with the Radeon 860M iGPU, 32 GB DDR5-5600 memory, 1 TB of storage, and a 14-inch IPS display. The display boasts a 1200p resolution, 100% sRGB, touch input, 500 nits of max brightness, and an anti-glare coating. It is not the 100% DCI-P3 OLED panel of other ThinkPads, but the IPS panel is more than enough for most people.
For ports, the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 carries:
- Two USB 4.0 ports
- Three Type-A ports, with one Always On
- An HDMI out
- An RJ45 Ethernet jack
- A 3.5 mm combo audio jack
Sadly, there is no SD card reader. So, if you want one, you’ll have to use a dongle.
While we are yet to review the ThinkPad P14s Gen 7, you can expect the laptop to be a solid companion. From the build quality, display, and keyboard to the daily performance and battery life, the ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 should hold up quite well.
