The laptop market is about to get a splash of color—and a serious dose of mid-range performance. Fresh details have emerged regarding Dell’s upcoming refresh of the Dell 14S, a device that aims to bridge the gap between budget-friendly portables and the premium XPS line. According to new leaks, the upcoming model, identified internally as the Dell 14S (DS14270), will be one of the first to market utilizing Intel’s latest Core Series 3 "Wildcat Lake" processors.
This move positions the 14S as a compelling alternative for students and professionals who want modern architecture without the premium price tag associated with Panther Lake-powered flagships. While Dell has kept pricing under wraps, the company has explicitly stated the laptop is intended to complement the XPS 13 while remaining more accessible, hinting at a significantly lower entry cost.
Under the Hood: Wildcat Lake Arrives
The shift to Intel’s Wildcat Lake architecture is the headline act here. This new silicon is designed to offer excellent efficiency and modern AI capabilities without breaking the bank. Dell is reportedly offering two configurations for the 14S.

The higher-tier Core 7 350 boasts six CPU cores, an NPU (Neural Processing Unit) rated at 17 TOPS for local AI tasks, and boost clocks that scale up to 4.8 GHz.
