HP’s OmniBook X 14 Brings Nvidia RTX Spark N1X to a 14-Inch Laptop—at a Serious Price

The new HP OmniBook X weighs 1.71 kg and is 13.53 mm thick.

HP has started selling its first 14-inch laptop built around Nvidia’s RTX Spark N1X architecture, and it is clearly aiming for the premium crowd. First shown during Computex 2026, the new OmniBook X 14 is significantly more powerful than the OmniBook X Flip 14 we reviewed earlier this year (currently $879 on Amazon). But that extra performance comes with a much higher launch price.

Pricing starts at $2,999

The entry point for the OmniBook X 14 is $2,999 in the US. For that, you get an 18-core RTX Spark N1X chip with a 5,120-core GPU, plus 32 GB of LPDDR5x-9400 RAM and a 1 TB SSD. If you want more graphics muscle, HP offers a step-up chip with a 20-core CPU and a 6,144-core GPU for a $420 surcharge, while leaving the rest of the configuration untouched.

Memory upgrades are where the price climbs quickly. HP charges another $580 to move from 32 GB to 64 GB of RAM, which pushes the 14-inch laptop to $3,999. At the top end, the OmniBook X 14 reaches $5,109 when configured with 128 GB of RAM. Surprisingly, even that flagship SKU keeps the same 1 TB of PCIe Gen 5 storage, despite the massive price increase.

HP’s official product page lays out all of those options, and Costco has also listed a 32 GB / 1 TB configuration for shoppers who prefer that retail route.

Same OLED display and connectivity across the lineup

No matter which configuration you choose, the core experience stays the same. Every OmniBook X 14 includes an 80 Wh battery and a MediaTek MT7925 modem with Bluetooth 6.0 and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. HP also fits all SKUs with an identical OLED display that outputs at 2,880 x 1,800 pixels with a 120 Hz refresh rate.

That panel is rated for 500 nits of peak brightness in SDR mode and 1,100 nits in HDR mode, so it should handle both indoor productivity and media consumption well. For a machine that starts at $2,999, that consistency is welcome—though it also means buyers are mostly paying for CPU, GPU, and RAM upgrades rather than a better screen.

Release date and availability

Pre-orders should start shipping on November 6. HP has not said whether the first wave will sell out quickly, but given the niche positioning and high price, this is unlikely to be a mass-market impulse buy. Instead, the OmniBook X 14 looks like a halo device for creators, developers, and AI-focused users who need RTX Spark N1X performance in a 14-inch chassis.

For now, the OmniBook X 14 is a fascinating mix of cutting-edge hardware and eye-watering pricing. It is more powerful than the OmniBook X Flip 14 we reviewed earlier, but it also costs several times as much. Anyone interested should check HP’s website for the latest configuration details and shipping estimates before placing an order.
