A Big-Screen Budget Machine with Serious Specs
In the crowded world of budget laptops, it’s rare to find a model that balances screen real estate, processing power, and portability without cutting too many corners. The IJKKJI MTL1735U, however, is making a strong case for itself as one of the most practical 17-inch options on the market right now. Priced at under $400, this laptop packs an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD—a configuration that punches well above its price tag. For students, remote workers, or anyone who needs a dependable daily driver, it’s a compelling package.

At the heart of the MTL1735U is AMD’s Ryzen 5 3500U, a quad-core processor with a boost clock of up to 3.7GHz. This isn’t a chip built for hardcore gaming or video rendering marathons, but it handles multitasking with surprising ease. Whether you’re juggling research tabs, streaming lectures, or editing documents, the 8GB of RAM keeps things running smoothly. The 256GB SSD ensures quick boot times and snappy file access, though power users may want to keep an external drive handy for larger media libraries.
A Display Built for Productivity and Entertainment
The 17.3-inch Full HD IPS display is arguably the star of the show here. With a resolution of 1920x1080 and wide viewing angles, it’s a significant step up from the dim, washed-out panels often found on budget 17-inch laptops. The extra screen real estate makes a real difference for productivity—you can comfortably run two windows side by side without feeling cramped. It’s also a pleasant companion for streaming shows or watching videos during downtime, thanks to the crisp colors and solid contrast.

Practical Features That Matter
IJKKJI has clearly thought about everyday usability with this model. The backlit keyboard is a welcome addition for late-night study sessions or working in dimly lit rooms, and the integrated webcam makes video calls hassle-free. For anyone who values a stable internet connection, the RJ45 ethernet port is a thoughtful inclusion—something many modern laptops have abandoned in favor of wireless-only connectivity. The port selection is rounded out by HDMI, USB 3.0, and a full-function Type-C port, giving you plenty of options for external monitors, peripherals, and data transfers.
Connectivity and Portability
Wireless connectivity is handled by dual Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, ensuring reliable connections to routers and accessories. At 17 inches, this laptop isn’t the lightest option out there, but it’s still manageable for carrying between classes or rooms. The trade-off for the larger screen is a bit of extra weight, but for many users, the added display space is well worth it.
Who Is This Laptop For?
The MTL1735U is an ideal fit for students who need a reliable machine for research, document creation, and online learning. It’s equally suited to anyone who wants a secondary laptop for the home office or a budget-friendly option for casual entertainment. If you’re looking for a laptop that can handle everyday tasks without breaking the bank, this one deserves a spot on your shortlist. A Word on Alternatives
If you’re still weighing your options, it’s worth noting that the budget laptop market is full of interesting contenders. The WISESWAN A156 Windows 11 laptop, for example, offers a 15.6-inch display and an Intel Core i3 processor at a similar price point. It’s a solid choice for students who prioritize portability over screen size, but the IJKKJI’s larger display and Ryzen 5 processor give it an edge for those who want more screen real estate and slightly stronger multi-core performance.
Final Thoughts
The IJKKJI MTL1735U isn’t trying to be a premium ultrabook or a gaming powerhouse. What it offers is a well-rounded, practical laptop with a large, high-quality display, dependable performance, and a price tag that won’t make you wince. For students, budget-conscious professionals, or anyone in need of a reliable everyday machine, it’s a solid choice that delivers on the essentials without unnecessary frills.
