Dell has quietly launched its latest 14-inch laptop, the Dell 14 D14265, offering a compelling alternative to both its predecessors and Intel-based competitors. Powered by AMD's rebadged Ryzen 7000 and 8000 series processors, this lightweight machine aims to deliver solid performance at an attractive price point.
The laptop market continues to evolve rapidly, and Dell's newest addition to its 14-inch lineup demonstrates the company's commitment to providing value-conscious consumers with capable computing solutions. The Dell 14 D14265 emerges as a noteworthy option for students, professionals, and casual users seeking a balance between performance and affordability.
AMD Hawk Point Processors Power the New Dell 14
At the heart of the Dell 14 D14265 lies AMD's Hawk Point architecture, featuring either the Ryzen 3 210 or Ryzen 5 220 processors. These chips combine Zen 4 and Zen 4c CPU cores built on a 4 nm manufacturing process, delivering impressive efficiency with a 28 W TDP. The Ryzen 3 210 serves as the entry-level option, while the Ryzen 5 220 provides additional processing power for more demanding workloads.
The integrated Radeon 740M graphics represent a significant improvement over previous generations, offering enough horsepower to handle older triple-A titles at 720p or 1080p resolutions. While not designed for serious gaming, this iGPU provides a noticeable boost compared to the 2-core Xe3 integrated graphics found in the Intel-powered Dell 14 D14261, according to benchmark comparisons.
Display and Battery Life
The Dell 14 D14265 features a 14-inch IPS display with a 1200p resolution, offering crisp visuals with a 400 nits peak brightness that ensures good visibility in various lighting conditions. The 120 Hz refresh rate delivers smoother scrolling and improved responsiveness, making everyday computing tasks feel more fluid.
Powering the system is a 54 Wh battery, which should provide all-day usage for typical workloads. The combination of efficient AMD processors and a substantial battery capacity positions this laptop as a reliable companion for users on the go.
Lightweight Design and Available Finishes
Weighing just 1.2 kg, the Dell 14 D14265 is remarkably portable, making it ideal for students and professionals who frequently travel. The laptop comes in two attractive finishes: Celestial Blue and Platinum Silver, allowing users to choose a style that suits their personal preference.
Connectivity and Port Selection
The Dell 14 D14265 includes USB-C and USB-A ports, HDMI output, a microSD card reader, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. This comprehensive selection of ports ensures connectivity with various peripherals and external displays.
