| The Framework Laptop 13 Pro features a custom touch-sensitive display. |
Framework has built a reputation for being unusually open with customers, especially when component prices shift. That transparency is once again on full display in its latest memory-pricing update. The short version? If you’re shopping for a Framework Laptop 13 Pro, there’s some genuinely good news. If you’re eyeing a pre-built Framework Laptop 13 or Laptop 16, prepare for higher prices.
Framework Laptop 13 Pro: 32GB and 64GB LPCAMM2 RAM Now Cheaper
The headline win is for Framework Laptop 13 Pro buyers. Earlier in September, Framework managed to source 32GB and 64GB LPCAMM2 memory modules from Micron at a reduced price. The only problem was supply. There wasn’t enough stock to spread the savings around, so Framework limited the discount to pre-orders already placed through Batch 10.
Now, Framework says it has secured more LPCAMM2 modules at the same lower price. More importantly, it has extended the LPCAMM2 price decrease to all remaining Framework Laptop 13 Pro pre-orders — and it has reduced memory pricing for new pre-orders as well. That means whether you already have a pre-order in the queue or you’re about to configure a new DIY or pre-built Laptop 13 Pro, the 32GB and 64GB RAM options are now cheaper for everyone.
That’s a notable shift in a market where memory prices have mostly been moving in the wrong direction. For anyone who needs more RAM for development, virtualization, creative work, or just heavy multitasking, this is the kind of price cut that can make a real difference at checkout.
For the full details straight from Framework, you can read its official update on memory pricing and the volatile memory market here: Framework’s official memory pricing update. Intel Core Ultra X9 388H Pre-Orders Are Open, But Stock Is Limited
Framework has also reopened pre-orders for the Intel Core Ultra X9 388H version of the Laptop 13 Pro. If that chip sounds familiar, it’s because Framework previously raised the price of the Core Ultra X9 388H-based DIY Laptop 13 Pro to $1,899 when the CPU option last became available. The good news is that there is no further price increase this time around.
The catch? Framework warns that it only has a limited quantity of both the Core Ultra X9 388H processor and the cheaper LPCAMM2 RAM. So if you’ve been waiting for this combination to come back in stock, waiting much longer could mean missing out. Framework is essentially saying: if you want the top-end CPU with the newly reduced memory pricing, now is the time to act.
Framework Laptop 13 and Laptop 16 Pre-Builts Are Getting More Expensive
Now for the less pleasant part of the update. Pre-built Framework Laptop 13 and Laptop 16 models are getting more expensive. Framework explained that it has depleted inventory of several configurations that were built with lower-cost memory and storage. As a result, the company has needed to increase pricing on those remaining pre-built systems.
Unfortunately, that may not be the end of it. Framework says additional pre-built Laptop 13 and Laptop 16 configurations are likely to get more expensive in the coming months. The broader memory and storage market remains volatile, and Framework is not immune to those pressures — even if it is doing a better job than most at keeping customers informed.
The Bottom Line
Overall, this is still a pretty good development for Framework fans. The company is giving more consumers the chance to get the Framework Laptop 13 Pro at a reduced price, particularly with 32GB or 64GB of LPCAMM2 memory. That’s especially welcome news for DIY builders and anyone who wants a repairable, upgradeable laptop without paying a premium for memory.
The Framework Laptop 13 Pro is an excellent machine in almost all the ways that matter, including battery life. If you’ve been on the fence, the cheaper 32GB and 64GB RAM options make the value proposition stronger. Just be aware that the pre-built Laptop 13 and Laptop 16 side of the lineup is moving in the opposite direction — and those prices may continue to climb.
We were able to get additional shipments of memory at this cost and have updated all Framework Laptop 13 Pro pre-orders configured with 32GB or 64GB LPCAMM2 to the new lower pricing. This pricing and also the X9 CPU config are available for new pre-orders too. https://t.co/YdFH89Z614
